The Saint John Ministerial normally meets the third thursday of each month(except Dec, July and Aug) in member Churches and ministries. We also conduct a Good Friday service for the whole city usually with an attendance of around 1000 people.

Upcoming Meetings and Events

1)   The next regular meeting of the Ministerial will be in the City Hall Council Chambers beginning at  10:30am on Thursday 21st of January.  We have scheduled greetings and presentations from the Mayor and others.    This is a special year for celebration in the Saint John area so we encourage as many of you as possible to join us as we pray for the Mayor and his Council and Staff.

2)  Valentines Dinner.    We have planned a dinner for you and your spouse a Lilies Cafe in the bottom floor of the renovated Lily Lake pavilion.   This is a wonderful little spot where some of us have been meeting for bible study each Friday morning.   The staff is very gracious and accommodating so we thought this would be a great venue to share with you all.    Please plan to join us on Monday the 15th of February at 6:00 for a time together in fellowship with the leaders of the church in the region!   Please let Wayne Dryer  (secretary of the SJMA) know if you are coming.   I have booked a number of tables. email Wayne at wdryer AT nb.sympatico.ca or call him 693-2455

3) The next meeting will be during the season of Lent and we are planning a day to reflect using contemplative prayer.   Wayne and Ed are developing this.  It will take place on Thursday March 18th.   The tentative start time will be 9:30.   Location to be announced.

4)  The Good Friday Service will take place a location yet to be decided on, but probably on the west side of the city! at 2:00 April 2nd    This is the first time we have "gone west" and we look forward to a great message and fellowship with all.  A newspaper advert will give the details as we get closer to this time.   I see this as a key time in the body of Christ for the Greater Saint John area.

5)   Also in April are plans for a Mayors prayer breakfast for the 15th.  That is a Thursday.   Time and venue have yet to be determined; but please put this on your calander and plan it as a priority.   The Mayor has asked for prayer and we must respond.

6)  May is the Month when Saint John will celebrate it's 225th anniversary as an incorporated City.   We do want to call believers together to mark this date as well and celebrate the Gospel in the city for these 225 years.    We are making plans to do something on or about the 18th of May to commemorate this.   Make this a matter of prayer and stir your people up about it.   Saint John was named after John the Baptist and as such carries a responsiity to proclaim the Good News.

7)  Our closing BBQ will take place at the Renforth Boat Club Facilities and if it is decent weather we will embark on one or two vessels to the tip of Long Island for festivities.   The date for this is the 21st of June at 5:00   embark at 5:15 for a 5:30 sailing.  If the weather is iffy then we can enjoy the club facilities and still have a great time!    RSVP to Eric several days before!

In other news I was contacted by the City of Saint John to participate in a stakeholders interview for the new Municipal Plan.  I have invited Wayne Dryer to share this with me.  There are a number of issues that we will be presenting to the consultants as they develop a new plan for the city.  If you want to make input to this then please contact one of us.
