The Journey Continues...
:
During the months of January through May we will be taking a look at what it takes to stay healthy, passionate and focused in Pastoral ministry. All of us know of pastors who for one reason or another have transitioned out of this calling. Some have done it becaue they have been authentically called to something else, but sadly there are many who have succumbed to the snares of the enemy directly or indirectly.
As the executive of the ministerial in Saint John we want to do all that we can to ensure that all of us have what we need to "make it" all the way through. There are no million dollar prizes at the end, and no immunity idols in this game. We don't play against each other... and we are not fighting the Church or the people in it. No our survival is a very real thing that we contend for every day. We invite you to join us on this journey as we build one another up in unity and the power of Christ to achieve the goal that He has set before us. We will begin our Journey with Peter Fitch in January. Peter always has some words that touch us in a deep way. February we will have two times to be together one will be "Laughter the Best Medicine" an evening with a Christian comedian at Kings Valley. This will be an event open to the public, but Don is going to reserve a few tables for Clergy Couples. At our regular meeting we will be hearing from Jen Blackwood who is an occupational Health nurse who has a deep personal walk with the Lord and has built a small business by helping vocational groups and business achieve physical health and productivity in a number of innovative ways. We have other speakers that we will be working with for the rest of the time; as well as a listing of other resources.
NEWS FLASH: The Regional hospital has granted the Clergy of Saint John the use of their fitness center for the same price as employees of the hospital. Only $15/ month. Try to beat that! Go do a pastoral visit and bring your shorts and a good book! Call Eric for details.
