Saint John ReconneXions
Goal: Strengthening Local Congregations and Church City Networks around mission
Dear Eric,
Would you and the city church leaders see it as beneficial for the Billy Graham Evangelisitc Association of Canada (BGEAC) to offer a one-day “ReconneXion: influencing a community with authentic faith” Leadership Seminar about the MIssional Church in your area? The possible date we are looking at is Sept 9, 2009
What is a “Reconnexion” Seminar?
The goal of the ReconneXion Seminar is to encourage, resource, share new ideas, network and strengthen Pastors and all those in ministry while keeping our focus on outreach and church growth. ReconneXion will inform Pastors and lay leaders of current issues and opportunities facing the church and how they will affect us and the way we are to minister in the future; as well as to share resources, solutions and suggest workable responses to the issues and opportunities before us. The desire of the BGEAC is to serve and encourage the local church leadership through these one day seminars.

When and Where is Reconnexion to be Held?
The proposal is that, if your city church network believes that this seminar is beneficial to the congregations in your area, then it be hosted by one of your local churches and that all Pastors, their wives and lay leaders are encouraged to attend.
What will be involved for you?
The BGEAC sees this one day seminar as being offered in partnership with your ministerial/city church network. Your name will be on the brochure and you will be invited to introduce the day, make local announcements, pray etc. The BGEAC will mail out invitations to their network and asks that the local ministerial do all they can to promote the event frequently so as to make it a blessing to the widest number of churches as possible.
What is the cost?
The major expenses of the travel costs and honorariums for the speakers are heavily subsidized by the BGEAC so that the cost for each participant is affordable.
ReconneXion is a one day Seminar: A morning until early afternoon (9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.) seminar. The cost would be $50 per registrant and include a light lunch, coffee breaks, handout materials, giveaways and the seminar sessions plus Q&A. There is a group rate of $45 for 3+ if they register together at least one week in advance. The price at the door will be $50 for all.
The host church will be reimbursed for all expenses and two of their leaders will be invited to attend the seminar for free. The BGEAC does not make a profit from these seminars but would like to cover the expenses as much as possible so as to be able to offer more of these seminars across Canada to help the greatest number of leaders they possibly can. The sessions are not to be taped.
